Erabros EV7 Review: Is This Budget Cordless Vacuum Worth Buying?

Published:

The Erabros EV7 is a budget cordless stick vacuum that surprised me with strong suction, generous equipment, and several practical features. It is not perfect. The docking station is too light, the large floorhead leaves noticeable dead zones near walls, and the styling will not appeal to everyone. However, it performs its main job better than its price might suggest.

At the time of my test, the EV7 cost around €100, placing it comfortably in the cordless vacuum under €150 category. At this price, I do not expect premium materials or every feature found in flagship models. I do expect effective everyday cleaning, reasonable battery life, convenient handling, and as few irritating compromises as possible.

In this Erabros EV7 review, I examine its real-world suction, motorized floorhead, green dust light, freestanding docking station, self-standing design, removable battery, filtration system, and accessories. I also explain the shortcomings I noticed during normal use and answer the most important question: is the Erabros EV7 worth buying?

The vacuum was supplied directly by the manufacturer as part of a collaboration. This did not affect the scope of the test or my conclusions.

The accompanying video shows the EV7’s construction, attachments, floor lighting, docking station, and complete package in detail:

Erabros EV7 Specifications

The table below combines the manufacturer’s specifications with details from the package I tested. Motor wattage and suction pressure alone do not determine how well a vacuum cleans. Airflow design, system sealing, the brush, and the attachment being used all affect real-world performance.

What Is Included and What Are the First Impressions?

The EV7 arrived in a surprisingly compact box. After testing many cordless vacuums, I am used to large cartons that become difficult to store once the unboxing is over. Erabros packed the components efficiently, yet the assembled product is still a full-size stick vacuum.

My package contained the main unit, a telescopic tube, a large motorized floorhead, two additional attachments, a freestanding charging station, a removable battery, and a generous supply of replacement filters. The amount of equipment already looks competitive for this price range.

My initial impression after assembly was positive. The vacuum is relatively light, easy to steer, and simple to carry between rooms. It can also be used on stairs without much difficulty. The telescopic tube allows different users to adjust the length to their height instead of being restricted to a single fixed position.

There is no flexible folding tube, however. Reaching deep beneath low furniture requires tilting the entire vacuum and bending down further than you would with a Flex-style tube.

What Does the Erabros EV7 Look Like, and Is It Well Made?

Build quality is good for the price, although the visual design is rather busy. The EV7 combines a graphite and translucent body, a purple handle, red buttons, a gold tube, red details on the motorized floorhead, and green floor lighting.

It looks modern and technological, but minimalist is not the word I would use. I would personally prefer fewer colors and a more restrained, consistent finish. That is a matter of taste rather than a functional flaw.

There is plenty of plastic, and nobody is likely to mistake the EV7 for a premium vacuum costing several times more. The individual parts nevertheless feel appropriate for the price, and I did not notice anything during use that would make me question the overall durability of the structure.

Is the Freestanding Docking Station Convenient?

Yes. The freestanding base is one of the Erabros EV7’s most practical features because it does not require drilling into a wall. You can place it in a corner, beside a wardrobe, or in a utility room, connect the power adapter, and move the entire setup later if your storage needs change.

When the vacuum is returned to the station, contacts positioned low on the tube connect to the base and charging begins. You are not dependent on the dock, either. The battery can be charged in three ways: with the vacuum placed in the station, by connecting power directly to the vacuum, or after removing the battery completely.

This flexibility is useful if you plan to buy a second battery. You can clean with one while the other charges separately.

The station itself still needs refinement. It is so light that it is best to hold the base down with your foot when lifting the vacuum. Otherwise, the dock may come up with it. Adding more weight to the bottom would solve this problem.

The extra attachments only slide into their storage openings and do not lock into place. They can rattle slightly when the station is moved. Simple retaining clips and a small guide for aligning the charging contacts would make the system feel more polished.

Can the Erabros EV7 Stand Upright on Its Own?

Yes. The vacuum can remain upright without the docking station, and this became one of my favorite EV7 features.

During cleaning, you often need to move a chair, pick something up from the floor, open a door, or pause for a moment. With many cordless vacuums, that means finding a safe wall, laying the device on the floor, or risking a fall.

The EV7 can simply be released and left standing in the middle of the room. This may not look exciting in a specification table, but it noticeably improves everyday convenience. I am surprised that a similar function is still absent from many more expensive models.

How Well Does the Erabros EV7 Clean in Real-World Use?

In practical use, the EV7 demonstrated a clear reserve of suction power. Erabros specifies a 550 W brushless motor and up to 70 kPa of suction pressure, but those figures were not enough to determine my verdict. What mattered was how the vacuum collected normal household debris and how much of the motor’s potential remained available through the different attachments.

The ordinary crevice nozzle delivered the biggest surprise. On many budget cordless vacuums, the extra tools feel like box-filling accessories. They work, but meaningful cleaning performance only appears after installing the powered floorhead.

With the EV7, the crevice tool generates strong suction even in the basic mode. After increasing the power and placing the nozzle against my hand, it can almost completely block the airflow. It works very well in corners, narrow gaps between furniture, along trim, on stairs, and inside a car. I would comfortably rate this attachment 5 out of 5.

That matters if the vacuum will be used for more than quick floor cleaning. Strong performance without the motorized head makes the EV7 more useful for stairs, upholstery, shelves, and automotive interiors.

How Good Is the FlatTurbo Anti-Tangle Floorhead?

The main motorized floorhead collects everyday debris effectively and should cope reasonably well with pet hair, but its bulky housing limits edge cleaning. The V-shaped roller combines soft bristles with rubber elements. A comb is designed to reduce hair and pet fur wrapping around the rotating brush.

Erabros calls the system the FlatTurbo Anti-Tangle Brushroll. In practice, it works reasonably well. If you have a dog or cat, the roller design should help collect fur from hard floors and carpets.

I would make the comb more aggressive and give it longer teeth. I have the impression that it would then separate hair from the roller more effectively. In its current form, I would give the floorhead a strong 4 out of 5.

The larger problem is the size of the housing. There are noticeable dead zones at the sides and front because the active roller does not extend all the way to the outer edge. The brush therefore cannot pass directly alongside every wall or baseboard.

Strong suction partly compensates for this. Fine dust and lightweight crumbs can be pulled inward before the roller is directly above them. It is not, however, a substitute for true edge-to-edge cleaning. On a future version, I would reduce the distance between the roller and the side of the housing.

Does the Green LED Dust Light Really Help?

Yes. The green LEDs make fine dust, hair, and debris easier to see on smooth floors. This is not merely a decorative feature.

There are three LEDs on each side of the floorhead. No separate light sits in the center, but the two beams meet in front of the brush and create an almost continuous illuminated area in practice.

The effect is clearly visible on laminate, wood, and tiles. Dust that normally blends into the surface becomes easier to locate, helping you clean more thoroughly beneath furniture and in darker parts of a room.

The LED angle is not perfect. I think the lights are mounted slightly too high or aimed too steeply. Some of the beam reaches the wall, while a flatter line of light traveling across the floor would be more useful for revealing dust several centimeters in front of the head.

A revised lens or mounting angle would improve precision. Even in its current form, however, the light is powerful enough to provide genuine assistance during cleaning.

Cleaning Modes, Controls, and Turbo Behavior

The Erabros EV7 provides three operating modes: Floor, Carpet, and Turbo. A small circular panel on the handle controls the vacuum. The lower section turns the device on or off, while the upper section changes the power mode.

Turbo uses maximum output, but it did not continue indefinitely on my unit. After approximately one minute, the vacuum automatically returned to the basic Floor mode. In practice, the highest setting is therefore better suited to briefly cleaning a difficult area than to vacuuming an entire room continuously.

The buttons could be larger. Sometimes I had to look at the handle to touch the correct part of the panel. I would prefer one large, separate power button and a second clearly defined control used only for switching modes.

Four green segments on the display provide an approximate battery indication. The screen can also warn about a motorized brush problem or blocked airflow. These alerts make it easier to identify the cause if cleaning performance suddenly drops.

Removable Battery and Three Charging Options

The removable battery is an important Erabros EV7 advantage. According to the manufacturer, it contains eight 2200 mAh cells and provides up to 70 minutes of operation. The maximum figure should naturally be expected in a lower-power mode rather than during continuous Turbo use.

Battery performance was satisfactory during my use, but the ability to replace the pack is even more important. Buying a second battery could extend cleaning time in a larger home. After several years, you also do not need to discard the entire vacuum simply because an aging battery begins to lose capacity.

The three charging methods add further flexibility. You can use the station, connect the power supply directly to the vacuum, or remove the battery and charge it separately. This is more practical than a design that always has to hang from a fixed wall mount.

Filtration, Five Spare Filters, and Aromatherapy

The package I tested included five additional HEPA filters. This is an understated but very practical part of the equipment. A filter can be washed, but it must dry completely before being reinstalled. With several available, you can immediately fit a clean filter while the previous one dries properly.

The manufacturer specifies a seven-stage filtration system. The dustbin components are also washable, which helps remove fine dust from internal corners.

The EV7 includes another unusual feature: a compartment for a scented disc. Exhaust air passes this area and is intended to spread fragrance around the room while you clean. My package contained two rose-scented discs.

The fragrance was not particularly strong, so I consider aromatherapy an interesting extra rather than a reason to purchase the vacuum. The disc also sits somewhat loosely and can produce a slight rattle when the switched-off unit is moved abruptly.

Is the 1.5 L Dustbin Easy to Empty and Wash?

The dustbin has a generous capacity of 1.5 liters, so it does not need to be emptied after every quick cleaning session. A button opens the lower flap directly above a waste bin.

If more hair or fine dust accumulates inside, the contents will not always fall out on their own. The complete bin assembly can nevertheless be removed, its internal parts can be disassembled, and everything can be cleaned thoroughly. The container is also washable.

Drying is essential. Before reassembling the bin and filters, every washed component must be completely dry. Moisture left inside the airflow system can cause unpleasant odors, make dust adhere to surfaces, and restrict airflow.

Is the Erabros EV7 Loud?

In terms of noise, the EV7 performs as I would expect from a powerful cordless stick vacuum. The motorized floorhead is audible, but the sound of moving air is more noticeable. Motor speed and noise increase as power is raised.

I did not find the vacuum particularly troublesome during ordinary cleaning. I did not measure it with a sound level meter, however, so I cannot provide a verified decibel figure.

Main Advantages of the Erabros EV7

  • Strong, clearly noticeable suction, including through the extra attachments
  • Excellent crevice nozzle performance
  • Self-standing design outside the docking station
  • Freestanding charging base with no wall drilling required
  • Three charging options
  • Removable battery
  • Large 1.5 L dustbin
  • Green lighting that makes dust easier to see
  • Height-adjustable telescopic tube
  • Generous package with five spare HEPA filters

Main Disadvantages of the Erabros EV7

  • The docking station is too light and may lift with the vacuum
  • Additional tools do not lock into the base
  • The bulky floorhead leaves dead zones near walls
  • The anti-tangle comb could use longer teeth
  • The LEDs are aimed slightly too high
  • The handle controls are small
  • There is no flexible folding tube
  • Turbo returned to the basic mode after about one minute on my unit
  • The multicolor design will not suit every interior

Who Is the Erabros EV7 For?

The EV7 is primarily intended for someone looking for an affordable and powerful cordless vacuum for everyday cleaning in a house or apartment. It should work well on hard floors, tiles, and for collecting pet hair. The effective crevice nozzle also makes it useful on stairs and inside a car.

It is an interesting option if you do not want to drill into a wall for storage. The freestanding base can be moved at any time, and the vacuum can remain upright by itself during a short break.

The replaceable battery is valuable for buyers thinking about long-term ownership. Five additional filters also make regular washing and maintenance easier.

In a similar price range, I have also tested the JIGOO C200 cordless vacuum. If an automatic emptying station matters more than a large 1.5 L bin, my iLife H90 Pro review covers another option around the €150 mark.

Is the Erabros EV7 Worth Buying?

Yes. The Erabros EV7 is worth considering if it is available for around €100 and your priorities are strong suction, everyday convenience, and generous equipment. It does not pretend to be a premium appliance, but it performs well where it matters most.

The features I appreciated most are not necessarily the first items people notice in a specification table. I can pause cleaning and leave the device standing in the middle of the room. I do not have to drill into a wall, the battery can be charged separately, and the crevice nozzle makes genuinely good use of the motor’s capabilities.

The biggest compromises concern the lightweight docking station, cleaning immediately alongside walls, and several underdeveloped ergonomic details. At the price available during my test, however, they do not outweigh the EV7’s strong cleaning performance and practical design.

FAQ

Does the Erabros EV7 Really Produce 70 kPa of Suction?

The 70 kPa figure is the manufacturer’s maximum claim, not a result from my own laboratory measurement. In practice, the vacuum produces strong, clearly noticeable suction, particularly when used with the crevice nozzle.

How Long Does the Erabros EV7 Battery Last?

Erabros claims up to 70 minutes of operation. That maximum should be expected in a lower-power mode because Carpet and Turbo settings drain the battery more quickly. On my unit, Turbo automatically returned to Floor mode after approximately one minute.

Can You Replace the Erabros EV7 Battery?

Yes. The battery is removable and can be charged separately from the vacuum. This makes it possible to buy a second pack or replace an aging battery without discarding the complete appliance.

Can the Erabros EV7 Stand Upright Without Support?

Yes. The vacuum can remain upright even when it is not in the docking station. This is particularly useful when moving furniture, opening a door, or taking a short break during cleaning.

Does the Erabros EV7 Dock Need to Be Screwed to a Wall?

No. It is a small freestanding base used for storage and charging. Its main weakness is low weight, so you may need to hold it down with your foot when lifting the vacuum.

Is the Erabros EV7 Good for Pet Hair?

The V-shaped roller, rubber elements, and anti-tangle comb help collect hair and pet fur. The system works reasonably well, although I think longer comb teeth would remove hair from the rotating roller more effectively.

Can the Erabros EV7 Filters and Dustbin Be Washed?

Yes. The filters and bin components are washable, but they must dry completely before being reinstalled. My test package included five spare HEPA filters, allowing one filter to remain in use while another dries.

Does the Erabros EV7 Clean Well Along Walls?

Strong suction can pull in lightweight dust near an edge, but the large floorhead housing leaves dead zones at the sides and front. It does not provide perfect edge-to-edge cleaning directly alongside every wall.
